Jesus commands that we “go and make followers of all people in the world.” (Matt 28:19). We are also reminded that we need to “…care for one another…” (See 1 Cor12:24-27) as members of the body of Christ.
Heart for Honduras Mission Trip 2026
Dates: June 23 – July 1, 2026
Cost: $1,900 per participant
Location: Near Cofradía, Honduras (approximately 45 minutes from San Pedro Sula)
This summer, we’re heading back to Honduras with a heart to serve.
Our team will be ministering near Cofradía, a community just outside of San Pedro Sula, where we partner with local leaders to support families and children in need. Throughout the week, we will focus on providing practical resources, orphanage support, and medical attention — while sharing the life-changing hope found in Jesus.
This trip is about more than what we bring. It’s about building relationships, encouraging the local church, and being the hands and feet of Christ to a community that welcomes us with open arms.
Anyone with a willing heart to serve. Whether you have medical experience, ministry background, or simply a desire to love people well — there is a place for you on this team.
My experience with Hearts for Honduras was so memorable and rewarding! I had the opportunity to connect with and get to know many of the people, and they truly touched my life. One of the most astonishing moments was when three little children, siblings aged 10, 8 and 4, walked into the medical clinic without any adults. The two older children were so mature and courageous- they had come to town, an hour down the mountain, with their sick little sister. Their mother had passed away and their father worked non-stop- he was not around to care for the children- so the older children were the caregivers to the younger. The 4-year-old had an ear infection, so we prepared medicine and gave it to the older siblings with directions on how to use it. It was incredible to see how responsible these children were, and how much they all cared for one another. It really made me appreciate the loyalty and love within a family. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to serve with Hearts for Honduras, and I cannot wait to take part in future medical missions!

Going to Honduras on a mission trip with Hearts for Honduras was the best thing I have ever done in my life. I was compelled to go back to school and get my Masters. I want to be able to continue going on medical missions and make a difference. I am relieved to know there are people who care and do Gods work everyday. Hearts for Honduras is a source of inspiration.

My first trip to Honduras was life changing in several ways. Here’s one! I’ve always believed and understood that God loves the whole world and is present everywhere…but… I think I probably thought that God was basically headquartered wherever I was! (that probably meant he wore a Nebraska sweatshirt; had a rural background and wondered about everyone else. I was in worship on Sunday morning in San Pedro sitting with passionately, enthusiastic Hondurans. I had an English translation feeding into my ear. Alex Merlo was relating a news story he watched of two Mexicans drowning in a river while an Anglo smiled and let them drown. In any other context I probably would not have comprehended. There, at that moment I realized that God was present here too! Jesus was here! He loved my Honduran friends like he loved me. Not me first…them second. But loves us all “first” … no headquarters where I was at.
